It may only be just the start of February to most, but to true fashionistas it is the start of wardrobe updates and closet clean outs in preparation for Springtime Fashion Trends!!! Here are my top 5 MUST HAVE/TRY TENDS for Spring/Summer 2012(in no particular order).

1. Maxi Skirts

I have always been a die hard maxi dress fan as they are the easiest way to be pulled together and stylishly comfortable. Perfect for day or night, maxis are a staple in my spring/summer wardrobe. So, the return of the maxi skirt is a natural transition that offers a few more styling options...think tees, tanks, and belting options! (Shh, the bold blue right on trend with bold colors for the spring/summer)

2. Bold Color Denim Jeans

With Spring comes the sunshine; therefore, wouldn't the natural need for bold denim be the obvious choice? We all covet our skinnyies, but sometimes want to switch it up when temperatures start to rise...this season, feel free to do just that!

3. Stand-Out Acents

From everything to stacked bangles and bib necklaces to look-at-me colored bags and bold blazers, spring is the perfect time to solidify your everyday outfits with pieces that draw the attention you deserve!

4. Wedges
If you're like me, then you understand that the best things come in small packages! But, for height challenged ladies like myself stilettos are an everyday thing. With that said, heels can be daunting so I am loving the different style of wedges....Perfect for jazzing up jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses.

5. Nautical/Stripes

Stripes...be it Blue/White or Black/White...are always a sure sign that Spring is in the air. I can't help but to think about the ocean, strolling on the boardwalk, and daydreaming about sailing on a yacht. From blazers and shorts to skirts, tops and dresses, stripes are perfect way to bring the boardwalk to your own catwalk!

I don't know about you, but I am utterly obsessed with bold colors that are sure to turn heads and make a catwalk out of your sidewalks this Spring and Summer. As a person that probably owns more than my fair share of BFJs, I truly hurt myself on when I stumbled upon a few from one of my favorite budget-friendly stores, Forever 21. Available in an array of colors, cuts, and price points(none over $35) one can't help but to scoop up a few.

"Do I really need another bag?" Well, like my mom and aunts always told me "...a lady can never have too many bags or shoes..." so I encourage you to forgo such nonsense talk and check out The Essential Jane Bag (available in Black, Brown, Turquoise, Pink, and Orange...my personal favorite).

Boasting a reasonably budget friendly (for genuine leather) price tag of $159, I definitely foresee the orange in my near future. And considering spring/summer is on the horizon, these boldly colored bags are sure to compliment any outfit. If you are a fashionista, like me, that seems to always over stuff her totes just be careful because with real leather totes, they can get pretty heavy to carry...but as the saying goes..."Beauty Costs...time, money, and sacrifice!"

I am literally obsessed with colored denim and absolutely can't wait for official lift-off of Spring! One of my new favorite denim lines, Blank Denim, is the perfect line to invest in! With it's amazingly soft and stretchy fabric and affordable pricing($68), feel free to indulge your every denim desire.

Let me just say this: My love affair with boots is completely insatiable and I don't really care! So, with that said, when I came across the Burberry Prorsum Sherling Buckle Boots(tall and short) I knew that would become a fixture in my closet during the colder months. Searching High and Low, I found them(considering they are nearly completely sold out) and pull them out at every chance. Any who, I came across these pictures of the Kardashian sisters rocking the taller versions and I felt compelled to share them with you!

And not that they have introduced colored denim to their line there really is absolutely no reason not to splurge on a single pair of jeans...heck, you are getting to great pairs for the price of one!

With two different shades, they are available in Electric Green, Shocking Pink, Orange Melon, Azure and Iris....I am stressing on which pair I want more! My favorite colors are blue and green, but since I already own(and love) JBrand's blue, I am really leaning towards the Electric Green! But then again, you really can't go wrong with the Iris(deep purple-ish) pair!

D - DENIM: Seasons and trends change, but one thing remains an everlasting constant...the need for DENIM! This season, denim is a must from skinny to wide leg or flare, from light to dark rinses, from distressed to trouser, from rolled up to straight leg, jeans are a MUST HAVE in every fashionista's closet. When you find the perfect fit for your gorgeous body shape, buy them in as many washes, lengths, shapes that your budget can handle because denim is perfect for day or night...lounging or stepping!

A - ANIMAL PRINT:

One of the HOTTEST trends that will leap into fall with us is ANIMAL PRINT...from shoes and handbags to dresses, skirts, pants, tops, and jackets, animal print is a sure fire way of adding a little spice to your everyday style. I am partial to leopard print, but zebra(black and white) or snake(think beige, black, cream mix) is all the rage as well. Sass up a great pair of skinny jeans and a basic white button down with a fierce leopard print ankle boot and you are sure to turn heads.

R - RED, ROYAL BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW

Last but not least, YELLOW...in all its many shades...is pure perfection when desiring a little bit on sunshine on a gloomy day. Make a bold statement with any of these colors...heck, color blocking is still fierce so go ahead and mix two or three...and be the scene stealer for every situation!

N - NEUTRAL

If color is a little much for you, take pleasure in knowing that NUDES and NEUTRALS are staples colors this season. Perfect in monochromatic settings or even as accent pieces. Wear a nude dress with a bold print/color heel and be the bell of the ball or slip into an all black outfit accessorized with a nude bag and heels...simple elegance at its finest! However you toss in a neutral piece, you will definitely achieve simple elegance that is sure to take others by storm!

E - Ever Mine and Here To Stay

Every year we spend thousands of dollars on items that may or may not be on trend and in style for the following season, but I am excited to extend a few pieces. This season, don't pack away your jumpsuits because you will still be able to rock the all-in-on frocks with a few additions(BFJ and stilettos)Pull out your leggings(as if you actually didn't know) for pairing with those OTK boots we loved so much last year. Clearly the BFJ is a staple piece that I see staying around a while...they're perfect for just about every occassion, so why not keep them around! Oversized bags are still in...especially with the number of Birkin bags we see cropping up all over the Hollywood circuit. If you invested in faux fur, rejoice in its return...I know I sure am! What better way to jazz up a pair of jeans than with a comfortably stylish fur vest! Platforms are even higher and stabalizing wedges are making it even easier to add a little height(for us vertically challenged ladies).

L - LACE, LEATHER, FRINGE, ZIPPERS, SPIKES AND BUCKLES

Accessories are necessary to complete any outfit...from day to night, the add-ons will ensure that your outfit was planned out and decided up with sincere thought(or at least give the impression). This season, count on everything from LACE to BUCKLES to accent your everyday and special event wear!.

Needless to say, I definitely want to kiss the designer behind the first pair of jeans because my closet wouldn't be anywhere near acceptable without the countless numbers I already own. But, I must say that I have been on an all out mission to locate the PERFECT pair of fitted distressed jeans for what seems to be forever. Then, I started noticing KimK rocking a sweet pair of neatly rolled up jeans on a few different occasions and I knew I had found them.

Last week, I bit the fashion bullet and ordered the Jet Jaime Roll Up Slim Leg jeans from Boutique To You and I am definitely glad that I ponied up and dropped the $198. Arriving yesterday, I was ever so excited to try them on...I AM IN LOVE!!! I know YEARS ago the idea of rocking white pants or jeans after Labor Day was definitely considered fashion suicide, but rules are definitely meant to be broken and replaced with a more modernly stylish fashionista in mind! Instead of packing away your summer whites for hibernation, switch out the pumps for a fierce pair of boots, change the casual tee or blouse for a cape coat or sweater, and pull out for faitful Fall and Winter bags...heck, if your just as daring as I, go ahead and toss in a colored handbag for an added pop of color!

Then, I came across this picture of Natasha Alam showcasing an army green pair while shoe shopping and Tamarea Eccelstone paired hers with a matching romper. But the hefty mortgage payment price tag, is not one that I can afford so I filed it under "Some Day"!.

I will admit, the Kardashian Klan(due to Monica Rose) have become fashion icons in their own right, so it is only befitting that their clothing line for QVC be a major hit.

This seasons line boast on piece that I absolutely could NOT pass on...Leopard Blazer! Available in this grey color and the original cream(on back order), they are more than worth the $89 price tag. Honestly, hav actively been on the hunt for for a leopard print blazer for months to no luck, so when I came across this one I ordered both without second guessing! I am more that pleased that I followed my fashion-first mind!

Last night was my first LNO in waaaaay too long!! Started with drinks(juice for me) at one of my favorite sushi bars, RA Sushi. Round two took us to a nice lounge called The MonaLisa. We closed the evening by trying to stop by a friends birthday party...things didn't quite workout, so we called it a night! 2011 is re-introducing the wide-legged jeans to the fashion world...maybe we should thank fashion guru Rachel Zoe for proving that not everything must be tight in order to be considered fashion forward!

As you know, me two loves in life have always been Fashion and Fitness! So, this post is dedicated to Fitness...with a bit of Fashion mixed in!.

I have been fashionably honored to have be chosen as a Glambassador for Houston, 2nd year, and 2011 is destined to be awesome! Well, last week I came home to a nice size box with three packs of Trident gum inside...for myself and obviously to share...and excited me over came me! My first assignment as 2011 Glambassador had arrived!

Upon ripping open each package, I was blissfully surprised at the delicious-ness of each of the 3 sugar-free flavors...Hence my title "Sugar Free Never Tasted So Good"! Needless to say, I quickly gave away package after package in order to obtain reviews to solidify my own personal opinion.

The people have spoken and Trident has won them over! The flavoring is absolutely amazing and the "chew" is beyond soft. I'll admit, the flavor may not last as long as desired, but I will definitely be carrying around Trident from now on!

It has been WAY TOO LONG since I posted, but there is absolutely no better way to come back than with a little shoe fashion!!!

Standing a mere 5'2", I have a long standing relationship with my heels...the higher the better! But, sometimes walking in heels can be a daunting task that takes practice, skill, and patience! Thank the heavens for the re-introduction of platforms!!!

On Friday, January 28, I was more than honored and fashionably delighted to attend the Grand Opening for Enjay Boutique, an upscale shop for women whose taste for style and class surpasses the everyday naked eye. Held at Michelle Y Williams Art Gallery on Kirby, one couldn’t have expected such sophistication to hit the streets of our own hometown. Natalie Johnson, boutique owner, has definitely started the streets to talking and ladies to desiring to add several pieces to their own closet.

Per the press release, Enjay Boutique specializes in offering clients access to “…high-end fashion…” from the comfort of their own home or cell phones, for the sister on the go. And, Natalie…Ms. Johnson if you fashionable…did NOT disappoint! Clad in a purple jumpsuit and a sweet pair of snake print Aldo Destime pumps, this entrepreneur was fiercely prepared to represent her and the fashion world as she showcased model after model, decked in pieces from her boutique, down the runway for patrons to drool over. While dinning on hor’s dourves and sipping specialty spirits, guest “ooh’d” and “awed” at the originally designed jackets, dresses, bags and belts that strutted into the hearts of die-hard fashion divas and dudes in attendance.

One model, to rave reviews, walked the catwalk in a white and black after-five dress with a wide belt. While another earned applause in an off-white pencil skirt accented by a taupe leather jacket, a must have staple piece, with pleated detailing. A third showed a little leg in an orange, great color for spring/summer 2011, mini dress with dolman sleeves balanced by a cinched waist. From high-waist pants, a personal favorite from the collection, to complimentary ruffled tops and business attire, Enjay Boutique offers a little something for every diva and is definitely a Houston boutique worth experiencing!

As the beats filled the gallery with heart racing tempos, men and women were engulfed in a community that is foreign to most Houstonians…FASHION! Enjay Boutique and Natalie Johnson have successfully educated our lovely community, and city, on the importance; as well as, the need for high-end fashion in a town of such fashion-forward uniqueness. It has often been said that Houston is an untapped fashion force to be reckoned with in due time. Maybe it is the tomboy in me or it could be the fact that my dad was a military man...I really don't know...but I have always loved the military styled fashion. I have a new favorite pair of pants...before, I was head over heels for jeans! These Blank Denim Skinny Cargo pants are absolutely AMAZING!! Perfect for everyday, a night out and/or to wear to work(depending on your job's dress code). I can't say enough about these reasonably priced pants. With it's cargo/military design, they are more than an ideal combination of this season's fashion trends! In addition, the material is beyond soft and definitely moves with you....maybe a little too much, so I definitely suggest sizing down (1-2)because they do become a bit more relaxed with one wear. The mile-high inside zipper adds an element of style that you won't find on another pair of skinny cargos. The snap closure is a bit different for skinny jeans/cargos, but I personally prefer the snap; as well as, having belt loops. The two zipper pockets are only for style and appeal because they are not functional, but you will have two functioning snap pockets. Available in an array of colors such as BLACK, ARMY GREEN(shown), SLATE(gray), and BLUE, you will definitely want to stock up. I have them in Black, Army Green, and Slate...definitely considering investing in the Blue(mom taught me, "If you like it, get 'em in every color...")...because of their versatility and sass! I am so in love with OTK boots that I should probably seek professional help...and this season's Report Signature Fairfax Boot3, in Khaki, is definitely fueling my obsession.

OK, I must admit, I am definitely addicted to boots and have been for some time now...I am not ashamed of the number of boots I own...! Well, maybe just a little, but that doesn't stop me from loving them just the same. Boots can make even the simplest dress, skirt, leggings or jeans yearn for compliments galore.

Always the one on the look out for a more affordable version of my favorite pieces, I was more than taken aback when I came across these CIROCCO boots on the Aldo website! I immediately flashed back to the day I fell in love the the CLs on last season...I knew I had to HAVE them this time around. Then came the all important question...which color? I was definitely torn because which fashionista isn't drawn to a pair of black boots...exactly we are all drawn to the sexiness of the perfect LBD, stiletto, or boot! September 22 marked the official start to one of my favorite fashion seasons...FALL!!! The wind blows cool air causing the trees to sway with such ease and peacefulness. The days seem a bit shorter, but with the beautiful days no one has a care in the world...except what to wear, that is!

Take a look at a few pictures I found on Glamour.com and I couldn't have recreated such Fall Chic-ness if I tried...so, I decided to post a few outfit ideas for my fellow fashionistas!

This is a perfect work day outfit that is sure to keep you on trend and office appropriate!

O.Kay, I can't say I am the biggest Kerri Hilson fan...especially with her having dissed Beyonce so strongly and all...but style and fashion is completely blind to hating! Monica Rose, Kardahsian Klan's personal stylist, definitely worked this chic outfit that Ms. Hilson wore the the premier of "Takers".

What truly caught my eye, and my sense of sensible style, were the nude platform heels. At first glance, they truly do resemble either Christian Louboutin or Brian Atwood heels...but upon further investigation, I am please to say that these babies are from Aldos! Yes, stars understand the importance of budget-friendly investments.

I actually have this shoe, DESTIME, in Black and Taupe(Bone Misc.)! Don't get me started on the compliments I have received with each wear. Not to mention they are actually an unbelievable comfortable stiletto! Trust me, you will definitely want to scoop up a couple of pairs. My advice? Definitely buy the black and red...every fashonista needs the a perfect pair of black and red heels!

I have to admit, Tony Parker and Eva Longoria make one of the cutest couples in the industry. He is well of 6' and she is a little over 5'...not to mention the attention and affection Mr. NBA showers his better half with in just about every picture snapped! They are definitely the definition of cuteness!

They may be one of the sweetest couples, but what draws me to them has definitely got to be Eva's impeccable sense of style and sass! From casual to court side, Mrs. Parker is clearly a style icon in the making! Look at these cobalt blue heels...FIERCE...they are absolute outfitmakers and not for the faint at heart when it comes to fashion! (I believe these are GUCCI, but don't quote me just yet!)

Not to many of us, celebrities included, can dare to wear short shorts, but this picture is proof that Eva's workout routine and diet is working...I am definitely hitting the stairmaster harder for the next few weeks...lol!!!

Sadly, I can't put my stamp on these shorts...loving the floral print, but that elastic waistband is killing me softly!
